I usually wait about a week to check the cameras in this spot. It was so pretty today, I couldn't wait.
The rut should kick into high gear this weekend, so I decided to go on and make sure my cameras were ready for it. A couple of young bucks showed up to leave their pee-mail in the scrape and freshen up their scent on the licking branch. A mature doe or two showed up and one peed in front of the camera instead of in the scrape.
BTW: I'm not doing anything to doctor up the scrape. I walk in wearing rubber boots, change the cards out and slip out as quickly as I can without disturbing it any more than necessary to get the pictures.
