What they doing in your area?

Round here, they heavy in pre-rut. Young bucks are bumping does everywhere and have them scared to death. Scrapes are popping up all over. But the cameras don’t show any dark hocks on the does or bucks. We usually see the rut about a week or two after Christmas.

I never will forget last year coming home on MLK day. I was on the 4 lane leaving Union Springs and there was a guy in the median cutting the head off of a big buck with a machete that had gotten run over the night before. His trunk was open and he had 3 or 4 racks in the trunk. And there were about 5 or 6 headless bodies I passed in about a 3 mile stretch of highway!

Eating corn and grass still in my parts. Few scrapes are starting to show up. They start acting right down here about mid to late January to mid February
