Anybody want to get together for a squirrel hunt on Wheeler? I should be able to go any Sat in Feb. I have two dogs but just had a letter of pups so I am down to one but he should be fine to hunt morning and afternoon. Also looking for some farms to hunt within reasonable distance from the house.

I got some private land we can go to if your interested. Its in Scottsboro, don't know if you want to drive that far.

1100 acres. It is close to two main roads but we won't be close enough to get the dog hurt.

I've got plans the last 2 weekends of the month so anytime towards the first is great with me. Just let me know and I'll be there.

I should be good on February 13 and one of the last 2 weekends.

I don't have any dogs but I got a 14yr old girl that likes to hunt and she's a pretty good shot. If y'all need a shooter, let me know. Schedule permitting we will be there.

Aren't you in Tuscaloosa or close to there? I'm in hueytown but hunt 2 clubs in Greene county.

13th is good with me bug man. I just realized I am on call the 27 so wheeler will be out for me that day. I'll shoot you a pm with my # shortly. If anybody else wants to tag along shoot me a pm.

On a scale of 1-10 how good is wheeler refuge? Do they have any special rules and regs? Do you have to shoot steel?

Yes on steel and no Sunday hunting. Rimfire ok. It can be good but its a lot of flooded timber so the acorns are mostly gone and a lot of dens. Its open all of Feb and I think the first week or two of season.
