Refining the Load

Post by Deadeye48 »

Shot a decent 1” group @ 200 yds this morning
The 22-6MM seems to have settled in on 48.5 grain of IMR 7828 SSC
This group had 2 that were .25” apart and 1 that was 1” high…..pretty sure my breathing got me on this one
Have 3 more loaded for trial tomorrow morning
Wind is coming on too strong this morning for any more

Rifle settled in on 77 grain Nosler RDF and 47.5 grains of IMR 7828
Shot a 4 shot group @ 100 yds that was smaller than a dime
Stretched it out to 300 yds in high winds it shot a 1 1/4” group

That's great load development! I'll be loading about 10 rounds of my favorite recipe .308 loads this evening. That's enough for 3 years or more ;)
The older I get the more I understand why roosters just scream to start their day.

One of these days I’ll learn how to post pics and can show the groups I shoot on my good days 😁
