Hunt story
Hunt story
I've not hunted turkeys very long I started a few years ago n I've killed 2. Today's hunt was awesome, me n a buddy roosted one yesterday n we set up to close after hour n half we decided to move closer n walked under the dang bird n watched him fly away. We went to another spot on a mnt across from a swamp n heard one hammer 1/2 mile on the creek in the swamp across a hwy. I decided that the bird probably wouldn't cross the highway so we drove down another rd n walked a mile into the swamp and nothing made a sound. We walked back n I said let's go back where we heard him n sure enough he hammered 1st call close. We set up n him n another made their way down to us n hung up at 70 yards then a hen walks out beside me 10 yards and that stupid bird wouldn't even come to her we sit 2hrs there n he wouldn't budge. We finally decided to lay down n slip off the back side bank to the road n move. We got circled around n sit up n 5mins later they come 60yards n circle us to top of mnt n stayed hung up for hour n half...we moved n got set up on same level in some thick stuff n just clucked n one of came right in 30yrds n got killed.
