kinda weird that someone's very first post would be a $1200 gun for sale. maybe it's just me.

I've never seen a scope with such a small objective....Is it just the type scope it is?

It's a leupold M8 3x. Stopped making them back in the 80s I believe.

What's so damn "weird" about finding a new hunting site while you're trying to sale a hunting rifle?

Looks like something that would go on a 22lr....I had a Redfield on one ny 22s that looked similar except both ends were identical in size...both small...

It was popular on "brush guns" back in the day.
Perfect for walking in the woods. It's a good scope.

Ten fo...I never knew Leupold made one in that style....but...I've never looked for one that size either...

Well, the word you're looking for is..... Sell.
Secondly, there's a lot of ATF trolls out there trying to bait folks into interstate gun sales which is a felony. They love to troll sites like this one because they think we're easy targets. So, yeah that's the weird part. Don't be offended if you're legit. It's just caution. I'd love to have that Marlin 44 but that's an ambitious pricetag.

I obviously should have contacted you for help with selling the rifle and scope since I'm clueless about their value and my grammar is poor.

Actually I wasn't trying to be abrasive, although I often come off that way. I was just explaining why someone would be leary of your first post. I've seen the prices on gunbroker and other sites going for $1000 to $1400 without a scope. I doubt they are selling for that but they're asking for it. For me (just my opinion) the scope is worth nothing. I'd give it away or throw it away. I'll give you $600 for the rifle and you can keep the scope. Provided you live in Alabama and I don't need an FFL transfer.

Hahaha. The arched logo pre '74 s are going for 500 - 550. The straight logo post '74 s are going for 200 - 250.
It's just an old lever rifle with an old scope. Would make a good hog killer or just fun to shoot. It ain't for shooting pine goats 300 yds down the power line. It's been in the safe for 20yrs and I'm funding another ar build. It ain't no thang.
