Wooohooo first to post in bow forum

How many are still carrying the stick and string? I have been, but the rut is among us and I'm going to try to stay the course.

I am. At least for the most part! It's tough during the rut to hunt with a bow, but I just enjoy it a lot more.

Haven't touched mine since bow season. Hard to give up the long shot when it's a option.

Because of where I hunt, I mostly bow hunt after Christmas. I hunt on a military base and THEY determine the hunt schedule (gun or bow, which days, etc). They only have a couple of gun hunts left, but they'll bow hunt about 20 days this month. If I kill another buck, it'll most likely be with a bow.

I never could get into the bow hunting so i bought a cross bow. Is a crossbow taboo around here.

I say more power to you! The people that hate xbows may not realize they don't magically make deer appear. If somebody kills a deer with a xbow it's because they were a good enough hunter to get close enough to seal the deal. I may not hunt with a xbow but I'd never judge a fellow hunter over their choice of weapon. United we stand, divided we fall...

I havent picked up a gun all season. Dont plan on it either. Bought a new bow half way through the season, and the heafty price tag has me feeling guilty about not using it all year.

I managed to go the whole season without picking up the gun. Unfortunately, I did not kill any deer.
